We have just launched a brand new ecommerce website for KDBeds bringing a new design to the site, as well as extra functionality to the administrative backend to improve the overall efficiency of the company helping them move forward in the bed sector.

KD Beds is a family run company based in Yorkshire and they approached us in December with their requirements for a new look website with a better ecommerce system, and with a lot of hard work from the Bronco team and their ecommerce team we have delivered a great solution on time.. well done guys!

The old KD Beds site was starting to look dated, but it did have a great deal of functionality needed in order to effectively sell beds online. We worked hard improving the overall functionality on the new site, incorporating existing features while bringing additional extras to the website and to the backend. Beds may be one of the most complex products to sell online which is where a "shop in a box" type ecommerce system falls down. Since we build all of our ecommerce systems in house, and create them specifically for the product, we can incorporate the need for instance of having a divan bed which has up to six sizes, each with a different sell price and RRP, multiple drawer options, colours and platform tops to choose from.

As KD Beds already had a website and a product database we were able to automate much of the product uploading into the new ecommerce system saving a great deal of time, while making the product database more efficient for the user to find what they are looking for. We have created many ways to find the perfect bed for customers with an intelligent search and the ability from a category to sort the products easily by size, sub category, mattress tension, mattress type and price range. This helps users to find their perfect night's sleep, within their budget, in a matter of a few clicks.

The overall design of the site had to follow the existing company colours of blue and yellow, and to keep their recognisable logo. On the home page we aimed for a big splash with easy ways into the many categories as well as displaying key products and messages. On the internal pages we kept the old format of the double left and right navigations so that users can either look up products by category or by manufacturer. The basket and checkout pages have been designed so that they are simple to use making it as easy as possible to make a purchase. Throughout the site we have built in features such as being able to buy a bundle deal consisting of the bed frame and the mattress together for a reduced price, to buy additional items easily from the basket, to add and read reviews on products and to get KD Beds to beat the price.
