Ripon Rugby Club gets a New Website

14/11/2007

Bronco is very proud of our association with Ripon Rugby Club and we have looked after their web presence for over 7 years. Following the redevelopment and expansion of the club house at the Rugby Club the next development needed to be the website.

The Ripon Rugby Club committee approached Bronco a few months ago with lots of ideas for the new website. We planned out what sort of technology the new site would need to take it to the next level. The old site already had a pretty complex back end system that was built originally by Ben Drummond in 2000, which enabled the club fixtures for all the teams to be added and match reports posted to the site with ease. Ripon Rugby Club also had two separate websites, one for Seniors and one for Juniors, so we all agreed that it was important to bring the 2 together.

The new site design was created by Bronco designer, Kean Richmond, who has transformed the overall look of the Rugby Club site. The main elements that we needed focus on were the clear entry points to the different teams, a clear navigation and strong images. The administrative databases for the Senior and Junior rugby sections were merged by Ben, as well as a new feature being added which combines all of the events and fixtures into one club calendar.

During the development we have also created two new blogs, one which is the general Rugby Club blog and one which is run by Brendan Hurley who is the Head Coach of the Development XV. The blogs contain match reports, player profiles, extra up to date information about the club, plus links to the rugby club photos and other useful websites. The blogs have been well received by the members and fans of the Ripon Rugby Club as it helps maintain the community and allows for good levels of communication.

Bronco is proud to support Ripon Rugby Club and to donate to the club a fully functional and redesigned website that will hopefully last for many years to come.
