All Kids is an online parenting magazine and children's shopping website that has been running for over 10 years. Elaine Forth from All Kids approached Bronco last year to help her rebuild her site to give her added flexibility and automation over the huge catalogue of products that she had to manage.

The main task for the new Ecommerce and Content Management System was to allow Elaine to recreate the existing pages on the new site so that there was a neat cross over for the user who may have previously bookmarked a page and for the search engines. The old All Kids site had been built up manually as a static site over the years, and I think it was the biggest and most complicated site that we had seen that had no backend to automate the pages.

There are thousands of products on All Kids that need to be maintained regularly and we have created a really easy to use Ecommerce system that allows for the admin of the products to take place in seconds rather than the hours it took previously. As suppliers change their offers on products the All Kids site needs to be able to be changed quickly with the ability to have an overall view of the categories, sub categories, ranges and character pages that the site has. The new administrative backend also means that anyone from the All Kids team can edit a product without needing any web development experience.

All Kids specialises in selling Children's Furniture and Nursery Furniture and items such as Kids Bedding, so many of the products that are available may be in the section that includes Bedroom Accessories but also need to be in the Character section under "Simpsons" for instance, so there is a lot of multiple category allocations to manage.

The site doesn't just sell products, but has a huge parental resource attached to it from treating childhood illnesses to keeping kids entertained on a journey. The site has a complex Content Management System behind the scenes to allow for new pages to be easily added and edited.

The site was designed to try to keep some of the existing look and feel from the old site as there are a huge amount of repeat customers who keep coming back, but the new design has been introduced to that customer base gradually while the old site was still live. The navigation needed to make it easy for people to get into the product pages and also to find the resources, depending on what they were looking for.

The site went live last week and it has had many compliments already for the overall look and feel, as well as the usability. The new ecommerce and content management system will save a huge amount of time and effort that goes into running a site, which will allow for the product range to be expanded further and to the additional orders to be processed.
