Over the last few years Bronco has grown, and with that growth we needed to restructure. We recently stopped supplying Broadband to the home user and business user markets and we have been advising our customers to check out some of the great Broadband deals now on offer in the UK.
Bronco used to have a strong Hardware division that over the years supplied and repaired a whole range of desktop PC's and laptops, but as the market became saturated with people supplying the same service that we did, and as people increasingly bought products directly from suppliers such as Ebuyer, the margins in selling hardware shrunk to the point that even though it was a profitable department, we could utilise the office space better. The hardware department, stores and workshop now house seven staff from the SEO team with room for a few more, so closing Hardware back in December 2008 has really proved a success for the company. We took the decision to break the tie with our Broadband customers at the beginning of July. We had mainly supplied high speed, low contention ratio, business broadband, but again as the competition in the industry increased and the "big guys" started to offer unbeatable deals we struggled to add new customers to our client base for broadband, especially when we had cut off our route in when we stopped hardware. We were being squeezed on pricing and the final straw came when our supplier increased their charges to us which we had to pass on. It doesn't really make sense for a company profitable in SEO Consultancy and Web Development to be making maybe £0.50 per month from a Broadband client when we had about 150 accounts. Any profit from the connections would be swallowed up with technical support calls we would have to deal with.
It's been a tough and time consuming 6 weeks, informing our Broadband clients of the changes and helping them migrate to a new provider but we have already noticed the difference with less phone calls and an ability to refocus on our core departments. I'd like to thank once again our Broadband customers for their support over the years and hope that they are settling in with their new provider.
