Areaz is a Yorkshire based designer furniture company who wanted to extend their web presence with a fully functional ecommerce system allowing them to sell their products online. The branding for Areaz was created and the website was designed around the logo making sure the site appealed to their target market and showcased their products effectively.
The ecommerce system that we developed has been tailored around their products, allowing Areaz to add their huge range of Brands and Designers to the site and allow for additional information to be included. The products that Areaz sell can be very complex with some products having hundreds of colours, multiple leg options, top options and accessories so that a customer can really tailor the product to their exact requirements. Often with a piece of furniture different options will add to the overall cost and this needed to be built in so that it was easy to set up in the administrative backend system, as well as being easy for the user. The main product page gives a great deal of information about a product including multiple images that can be zoomed into, technical drawings and the colour swatches.
The site also has a fully functional user login section. This allows for customers to set up an account so that they can save baskets, add items to a wish list, see previous order history and set up multiple delivery addresses. The user section also allows Areaz to set up trade accounts with discount levels and credit accounts for customers. When a user is logged in they will see their special price on the site so are able to make the buying decision easily.
The search function on the site uses a predictive search function so that as people type, the search offers products that match the query. In the backend of the ecommerce system each product can also be set up with multiple alternative keywords that will help people find exactly what they are looking for.
