This week we have launched a brand new ecommerce website solution for Areaz. The site sells designer furniture for your home and office from the very best international furniture designers and brands.
The design of the site was borne from the Areaz logo and colour palette that was provided to us. The main brief for the design was that it needed to make good and full use of the great imagery that they had for the products, to be easy to use and to sell the lifestyle. We aimed to keep the structure of Areaz site easy to use and for the overall usability to flow right to the final thank you page after the checkout.The core structure of the ecommerce solution is based around the main categories and subcategories, but also handles the large set of Designers and Brands. This allows users to the site to find their perfect piece of furniture in a variety of different ways. They can also use the search box which has predictive intelligence built in. The benefit that Areaz found with coming to Bronco to have their bespoke ecommerce solution built, was that we always tailor the ecommerce solution around the product rather than just trying to leverage a complex product into a fixed system.
The main challenge for the development of the Areaz site was to cope with the enormous number of variations that each product potentially has. Many products sold online often come with a range of colours or sizes maybe, but the designer furniture that Areaz sells typically has a choice of finishes, top options, leg options, sizes and a whole host of colours for each option, with varying prices. We have created a very user friendly system to allow for the multiple dropdowns to be added and assigned to the products in the backend, along with colour swatches in their hundreds, and to make it simple for the users of the site to tailor make their perfect piece of furniture.
The Areaz site has the additional functionality to allow for interior designers and architects to sign up for a trade account and for them to receive discount levels depending on their level of spend. The special trade account has the functionality to allow for customers to Save a basket, to see previous orders and to add items to their wishlist.
