My Work Experience at Bronco: What I Learned About Digital Marketing
Work experience is often your first real look at how a business runs day to day, and my time at Bronco gave me exactly that. Over the course of my placement, I got involved in a range of digital marketing tasks that showed me various opportunities and different paths in a digital marketing world.
From outreach and blog writing to social media planning and paid social research, I was able to see how creative ideas and strategy work together. It gave me such a clearer understanding of what digital marketing looks like in practice and how each task supports a wider goal.
Learning How Outreach Supports Digital PR
One of the first areas I looked at was outreach for digital PR. I used Prowly to research journalists, build media lists and look at how email pitches are put together for different campaigns. This helped me find the right journalists, understanding what they write about and tailoring a story so it feels relevant to them.
I also explored campaigns for different clients, including property and travel-related topics, which helped me understand the range of different clients Bronco faces on the daily.
Building Creative Ideas for Social Media and Paid Ads
Another big part of my work experience was social media and paid social content. I looked through Bronco’s social channels and designs to understand the brand’s visual style and tone of voice. From there, I came up with ideas for posts around key dates, industry updates and brand moments to eventually create my own social media post.
I also carried out competitor research, looking at how a range of companies present themselves through ads and user-generated content. This helped me see what catches attention quickly. I was able to incorporate some of my work into the actual website giving me an authentic feel for working with Bronco.
I published my work through infographic and blog posts, something I have never done before. Through these new experiences I was able to build and create my own work and feel a part of the Bronco team.
Seeing How Content and SEO Work Together
The content side of my placement was especially useful because it showed me how writing supports both branding and search visibility. I reviewed competitors and looked at how blog topics, meta descriptions and page content all play a role in helping a website perform better.
This part of the experience made me realise that good content needs to do more than fill space. It should reflect what users are searching for and make the website more useful overall.

What I Took Away From My Time at Bronco
My work experience at Bronco gave me a much better understanding of how digital marketing works across different channels. I learned that strong marketing is not built on one thing alone. It comes from combining research, creativity, planning and clear communication.
I also spoke to other departments looking at behind the scenes of PPC and Web development. This included looking into the interface of Google ads and basic account structure. With Web design & development I was shown how to redesign websites and the back-end of website functionality of how it all systematically works.
The former workers at Bronco provided me with very useful materials, not only for inside a work space, but also for everyday life.
Their years of expirience gave me huge insight into the world of digital marketing and offered me great help and advice. All the workers at Bronco are experienced, advanced in their knowledge and very supportive of new faces in the digital marketing world.
